As part of the promotional activities before its market introduction, Tata Motors showcased the Nexon at a Ganpati Pandal in Mumbai. Images shared by a Team BHP user show the Tata Nexon at Shayadri Krida Mandal, Tilak Nagar.
The display car sports a Blue and Grey dual tone paint scheme. The top of the line XZ+ trim here features 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and ceramic exterior highlights. Headlamps, as well as tail lamps, get LED detailing. A SUV-coupe roofline gives the Nexon a distinctive look, which Tata Motors hopes will help differentiate it from the EcoSport and Vitara Brezza.
Despite the sloping roofline, the rear does not feel cramped, and there is ample headroom and leg room for passengers. The cabin of the Tata Nexon gets features like automatic climate control, 6.5-inch touchscreen for the Harman sourced infotainment system, 8-speaker audio setup and a cooled glovebox. There is a rotary selector for the multi drive modes which include Eco, City and Sport modes.
Tata will offer the Nexon with a choice of 1.2 L Revotron turbo petrol and 1.5 L Revotorq turbo diesel engines. Both engines have a maximum power output of 110 PS while peak torque is rated at 170 Nm and 260 Nm respectively. Both variants, for now, come with only a 6-speed manual transmission. AMTs will be added as an alternative before April 2018.
This is the first instance of the Nexon on public display, after its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. Even Tata dealerships do not have display units and are yet to commence test drives. However, bookings for the car are open, and the Team BHP users added that representatives present at the display claim that the Tata Nexon launch will take place in the first week of September.
