The Tata Kite hatchback was spotted testing outside Tata's Pimpri facility recently by our friends at CarToq. These spyshots give a glimpse of the interior of the Celerio-rivaling hatchback.
The interior shows newly designed AC vents inspired by the Xenon's, space for a 2-DIN system below it and a new steering wheel. Tata officials had said that future cars (new cars and refreshed models) will get the Zest's steering wheel. The new steering wheel is not only of better quality, but it is also smaller in diameter and hence easier to use.
While the car is built with Indica and Bolt parts, Tata designers will give the Kite new exteriors and body panels to differentiate it better. Power for the Kite should come from the Revotron petrol engine and transmission options should include manual and automated manual units.
The Kite will launch in the second half of next year and the car will be made at Tata's Sanand plant in Gujarat. Tata Motors will be making about 150,000 units/annum of the Kite at this facility.
