Rumoured to be called Tata Viago or Tata Altigo.
According to Autos Arena, the Tata Kite 5 sedan will launch in April 2017 for sale. Tata Motors is yet to confirm a launch date for their sub-4m sedan.
Rumoured to be called the Tata Viago or Tata Altigo, it is based on the Tata Tiago hatchback which is apparent by its shared front-end and interior. Unique to the Kite 5 are a stubby boot, wraparound taillamps, dual-spoke alloy wheels and a long LED strip for the third brake light.
The interior design is identical to the Tiago but finished in a slightly darker shade. Top-end variants have been spotted featuring a Harman touchscreen infotainment system, auto HVAC, and reverse parking camera. The Kite 5 is confirmed to offer a class-leading boot capacity of 420 litres.
The Tiago will share its engine lineup with the Kite 5 sedan, which includes a 1.2L three-cylinder Revotron petrol and 1.05L Revotorq diesel engines. A 5-speed manual will be fitted as standard, while an AMT option is in the works for both the Kite 5 and Tiago.
Like its bigger sibling - Tata Zest - all variants will come equipped with ECO and CITY driving modes.
