While several publications reported, based on the image below, that the Tata Hexa's specifications are now available, we wish to inform readers that Tata Motors announced the technical specifications of the Tata Hexa at Auto Expo 2016, which took place over 8 months ago.
While showcasing the Tata Hexa in its production trim at the biennial show, Tata Motors confirmed in a statement that the SUV will be powered by the 2.2-liter four-cylinder VariCOR 400 diesel engine capable of 156 PS at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,700-2,700 rpm. 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions were also confirmed, and were in-fact showcased on the display cars (at the Auto Expo, the Tata Hexa had a 6-MT while an accessorised Tata Hexa TUFF had a 6-AT).
Further, the manufacturer stated that the Hexa comes with 19-inch wheels and a 2,850 mm wheelbase, though there are minor changes in the length, width and height specifications. During the Auto Expo, it was announced that the Hexa measures 4,764 x 1,895 x 1,780 mm in length x width x height respectively. However, after undergoing ARAI-tests, these specifications now read 4,788 mm in length, 1,903 mm in width and 1,791 mm in height.
