People who have driven the Tata Hexa divulged to Rushlane that it is the most refined Tata Motors product till date. As this is likely to be a statement from a Tata product tester, we'll reserve our judgement till we get our hands on the Hexa next month.
The Hexa, in its production form, made its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo 2016. It is the replacement of the Aria, and Tata's second chance at cracking the premium crossover segment. Some of the Aria’s styling cues has been retained but has been made more rugged and premium with black plastic cladding, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, roof rails, chrome embellishments and chrome-plated dual exhaust tailpipes. The Hexa measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.
Inside, it has an all black interior with piano black and silver embellishers. From various reports and images, it appears that the Hexa will be the most feature-packed Tata ever sold. Some of the confirmed equipment include an ESP (electronic stability program), 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, optional 6-seat configuration with captain seats, Harman touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, mood lighting and 6 airbags.
Under the hood is Tata’s 2.2L VARICOR turbodiesel engine that outputs 156.2 hp and 400 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard, while a 6-speed automatic gearbox is likely to be optional in mid- and top-spec grades.
