Launch expected to take place later this month or in October.
A couple of pre-production Tata Hexas have been photographed as well as videotaped testing on a national highway. Both models are uncamouflaged, suggesting that the Hexa’s market launch could be nearing; it is expected to take place later this month or in October.
The Hexa is Tata’s long time replacement to the Aria crossover. It measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The exterior features black plastic cladding and side sills, projector headlamps, signature LED DRLs and dual exhaust tailpipes.
As for its list of equipment, the Hexa comes with an ESP (electronic stability program), diamond-cut alloy wheels, optional 6-seat configuration with captain seats, Harman touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, mood lighting and 6 airbags.
Powering the Hexa will be the 2.2L VARICOR turbodiesel engine capable of producing 156.2 hp and 400 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox will be offered as transmission options, and an AWD system is optional in the top-end grade. A first for a Tata product is the terrain mode selector inspired by Land Rover’s ‘Terrain Response’ system.
