After getting spotted on several previous occasions, the upcoming Tata Buzzard (7-seat Tata Harrier) has been spotted doing rounds on the public roads yet again. The latest set of spy images also partially reveal the interior of the SUV.
For the uninitiated, the Tata Buzzard is the longer version of the Tata Harrier and debuted at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. It looks highly similar to its donor model. Though the design of its front fascia is going to mimic that of Harrier's, the differences will start to appear from the behind the C-pillar, and that's because the rear section has been stretched to accommodate the third row of seats. To add more space, the company decided to do away by stretching the rear overhang, but not the wheelbase. Also what's worth noticing is its stepped roof, upright tailgate with a roof spoiler and tweaked tail lamp design which differentiates it from the Harrier.
Inside, the spy shots reveal that the Buzzard is set to carry over the majority of the cabin from the Harrier. The most noticeable bit is the same large floating infotainment display, steering wheel, dashboard layout and rectangular AC vents. Though not visible, but the dual clock instrument panel with centrally placed MID is also expected to remain the same. Other than this, what's worth noticing is the use of automatic gear lever which hints at the test unit using the earlier reported 6-speed automatic gearbox.
In terms of dimensions, the Tata Buzzard measures 4,661 mm (+63 mm) in length, 1,894 mm in width and 1,786 mm (+80 mm) in height. It will make use of larger 18-inch wheels (optional) which will complement its beefier looks.
As for the mechanicals, the Tata Buzzard will get a peppier version of the 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo-diesel engine which is known to deliver 170 PS power output and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine will work with either a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission.
