Along with the 2015 Tata Safari Storme, Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd (authorized distributor of Tata Motors) has also brought the Tata Zest and Tata Bolt sub-compact duo for display at the 2015 NADA Auto Show in Nepal.
The Tata Zest was launched in Nepal on February with prices starting at NPR 24.5 lakhs (INR 15.34 lakhs), followed by the Tata Bolt on July 27, which was priced from NPR 23.95 lakhs (INR 14.98 lakhs). Both models feature a similar design up front, as seen in the large projector headlamps flanking a small mesh grille, and a simple lower fascia with fog lamps.
In terms of dimensions, the Zest measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,706 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, while the Bolt is 3,825 mm long, 1,695 mm wide, 1,562 mm high, has a wheelbase of 2,470 mm in wheelbase and a ground clearance of 165 mm.
Inside, it comes with a multifunction steering wheel, automatic climate control, a 5-inch Harman entertainment touchscreen system with video playback, Bluetooth connectivity, and Multi-Drive with three driving modes - Sport, City and Eco.
Both models share the same petrol engine, which is Tata’s newly developed 1.2-litre turbocharged ‘Revotron’ engine with 90 PS and 140 Nm. The diesel option in the Tata Zest is powered by a 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced diesel engine that produces 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque, while the same engine in the Tata Bolt produces 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque.
A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard for most of the variants, whereas a 5-speed AMT gearbox is available for higher trim levels of the Tata Zest.
