Both petrol and diesel versions on offer.
The Tata Zest compact sedan has been launched in Nepal with prices starting at NPR 24.5 lakhs (INR 15.34 lakhs) for the petrol version and NPR 30.75 lakhs (INR 19.25 lakhs) for the diesel. The car will be sold via Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd, Tata Motors' distributor in the country.
Engine options for the car include the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre Multijet diesel that makes 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The petrol, on the other hand, is Tata's newly developed 1.2-litre turbocharged 'Revotron' engine which makes an identical 90 PS and 140 Nm of torque, and returns an ARAI certified fuel economy of 17.6 km/l, while the figure for the diesel version stands at 23 km/l.
While a 5-speed gearbox is standard, the Zest diesel is also available with a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). There are a total of four trim levels for the petrol, while the diesel will be available in five trims. The petrol engine comes with Multi-Drive Mode that varies throttle maps depending on the chosen mode: Sport, Eco, and City.
Depending on the trim level, the Zest also gets ABS and EBD, dual airbags, reverse parking assist, and a 5-inch ConnectNext touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, and 15-inch alloys. Both versions get a 2-year, 50,000 km warranty, and 4 free services. The car is available in six colour choices. In terms of dimensions, the Zest measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,706 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height.
