At the 2015 NADA Auto Show, Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd (authorized distributors of Tata Motors) has launched the 2015 Tata Safari Storme (facelift) in Nepal. Prices start at NPR 4,225,000 (INR 26.29 Lakhs) for the LX trim and goes all the way to NPR 5,685,000 (INR 35.3 Lakhs) for the VX trim.
Compared to the previous model, the 2015 Tata Safari Storme gets a new honeycomb grille, a redesigned lower air intake and mildly tweaked foglights with chrome bezels. It also features chrome mirror caps, 16 inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust tips, a chrome bar running across the tailgate with a contrasting black panel, and a rear wiper.
Most of the changes are concentrated inside the Safari Storme, where it is equipped with a new steering wheel design, updated instrument cluster, revised center console, and new seat upholstery. It comes with a ConnectNext Infotainment System paired to an Harman six speaker audio system, featuring an LCD screen, Bluetooth connectivity, iPod-in, USB-in and AUX-in, and steering mounted controls.
The Tata Safari Storme is powered by a 2.2L VARICOR diesel engine producing 150 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The only transmission option is a 5-speed manual gearbox. A 4WD system with ESOF (electronic shift-on-fly) is also offered in Safari Storme, and as for fuel consumption, it is rated at 14.1 km/l by ARAI.
