We know that the Swift Dzire has made its entry into many markets overseas like Uruguay, Algeria and Chile. Earlier this month, the Swift Dzire sailed into the Sultanate of Oman, entering the Middle Eastern market for the first time.
The previous generation Dzire was an India-specific model and we have reason to believe that the new Dzire was also not exactly conceived as a global car.
Moosa Abdul Rahman Hassan & Co LLC will be exclusively distributing the Dzire in Oman. In Oman, there will be no mention of Maruti in the car. It is retailed purely as a Suzuki model.
The Swift Dzire is made only in India. Sales of the petrol model suffered severe blows after continuous price hikes. MSIL started exporting the car to new markets to work around the problem of piling stocks. This move helped the MSIL to offset the petrol stock stagnation.
The Dzire launched in Oman will use the proven 1.2L K-Series engine that produces around 95hp and comes in 3 variants, GL, GLX and GLX SPL. Standard features include Power steering, Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD and CD/MP3 player. Optional accessories include Keyless entry, Fog lamps, Alloy wheels, USB port and Automatic Climate control system.
The Suzuki Dzire has already reached showrooms of Moosa Abdul Rahman Hassan & Co and Mr.Anil Sethi, GM of the group's Suzuki Division welcomed customers to view and test drive the car.
After the lockdown of the Manesar plant, the sole manufacturing point of the Dzire, we're sure the supply of Dzires will be in shortage leading to long waiting lines outside India. The variants sold in Oman are petrol, and since they have relatively low demand in the domestic market and therefore a bigger inventory, the inevitable will be a bit delayed.
