Suzuki has launched the Swift Dzire sedan in the South American nation of Colombia. Indifferent to the ways of the first generation car which was strictly reserved for Indian families, the second generation Swift Dzire is exploring markets outside India.
Last year Suzuki introduced the India-made Dzire in the Middle East, Africa and South America through distributors. One of the reasons for the exports is the inventory pileup of petrol variants at Maruti's stockyards as India preferred diesel cars in the B Segment.
The Dzire for the Colombian market is spec-ed similarly to the Indian car. In comparison to the Swift, the Dzire has different bumpers, a redesigned grille, new wheels and undeniably a bigger boot (316 liters to be exact).
The engine is the same 1.2L K Series petrol which produces 85 horsepower. The car tips the scale at 960 kg, a main reasons for its more than respectable fuel efficiency figure.
The Dzire is fully loaded for the Colombian market. It has features such as power windows and mirrors, fog lights, Airbags, ABS brakes, controls for the audio system on the steering wheel and air conditioning. The driver's seat offers height adjustment to achieve optimum position for driving across different driver profiles.
The Suzuki Swift DZire is priced in Colombia at $ 31.9 million pesos (9.47 lakh rupees).
