Suzuki of Germany has presented the Suzuki Jimny Ranger special edition at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2015).
Touted as a hunting companion, the new Suzuki Jimny Ranger special edition features a load of extras including a removable towbar with electrical kit, a partition grille to the load compartment, a flexible liner on the load space, and rubber mats in the front cabin. The Ranger model gets 5 metallic exterior finishes, and "Ranger" badging.
The variant lineup for the Jimny Ranger is similar to the regular model, with Club, Comfort and Style translated as Club Ranger, Comfort Ranger and Style Ranger. The aforementioned extras are available on all three variants.
There is no mechanical change in the Ranger special edition, which is powered by a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder Euro 6 compliant petrol engine, capable of 84 PS at 6,000 rpm and 110 Nm at 4,100 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic gearbox (only in Comfort trim), both sending power to a four-wheel drive system.
Prices of regular Suzuki Jimny start at EUR 15,590 (INR 11.68 lakhs), while that of the Jimny Ranger commences at EUR 16,690 (INR 12.50 lakhs).
