Suzuki will world premiere the Suzuki Ignis crossover at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015 that opens on October 28. The car which will go on sale in the second half of 2016 is not yet confirmed for Australia, reports Caradvice.
The website says that Suzuki Australia is pushing the HQ for the Ignis' launch in the market but at this time nothing is certain.
The Ignis is based on the Suzuki iM-4 concept that was showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The dimensions of the compact car has not been revealed yet, but the concept was measured at 3693 mm long, 1709 mm wide, and had a height of 1566 mm, with a 2438 mm long wheelbase.
The pictures show that the Ignis has a high ground clearance and there is also speculation about an all-wheel drive system being optional. The dashboard layout is a new design for Suzuki with a floating infotainment screen as well as the insertable colour panels seen earlier on the Vitara.
The Ignis' engines have not been confirmed but if launched in Australia, it could come with the 1.0-liter Boosterjet engine that recently made its debut in the Suzuki Baleno.
