Current Octavia vRS 230 is the fastest series production Skoda.
According to EVO, the Skoda Octavia vRS will be the only performance-oriented model in Skoda's lineup for the foreseeable future. So people expecting a hot-hatch variant of the Skoda Fabia will be disappointed.
Instead of slapping a vRS badge on other models, Skoda will introduce Scoutline (crossover) or Sportline variants. To give an idea of what they offer, Skoda revealed the 2016 Rapid Scoutline and 2016 Superb Sportline at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt.
The 2015 Skoda Octavia RS 230 packs a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that dishes out 230 PS. It is the fastest series production Skoda Octavia till date, capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).
This does not mean that Skoda will not produce high output variants of other models. The 2016 Skoda Superb is offered with a 276bhp 2.0-litre TSI motor, which is one of the most powerful engines in Skoda's lineup.
