Will make its world debut on September 1.
The first undisguised teasers of the Skoda Kodiaq has surfaced online, giving an idea of what the production-spec Skoda SUV would look like, ahead of its world debut on September 1 in Berlin.
From what the teasers reveal, it appears that differences between the Skoda Kodiaq and its precursor - the Skoda VisionS - are very little. It features an evolution of Skoda’s angular styling seen in the Skoda Octavia and Superb, featuring a wide 'butterfly' grille flanked by Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED DRLs, sharp LED taillamps, a new alloy wheel design inspired by the VisionS concept, and roof rails.
Engine lineup will include three TSI petrol and two TDI diesel engines initially. Reports speculate that the output of the three petrol engines will range from 125 PS to 180 PS (123.24 hp to 177.47 hp), while the two diesel engines will produce 150 PS and 190 PS (147.89 hp and 187.33 hp). Transmission options will include 6-speed manual and DSG dual-clutch automatic.
The Skoda Kodiaq is confirmed to launch in India in 2017, where it could be locally assembled with CKD kits. It will serve as Skoda's flagship in the market, offering value-based luxury in a mid-size 7-seater SUV.
