Last week, on 28 August, Royal Enfield launched the Classic 350 Signals edition in India. The company has now commenced deliveries of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals in the country.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals Edition costs INR 1,61,984 (ex-showroom Pune) and is the first motorcycle from RE to feature ABS (anti-lock braking system). Braking power comes from a 280 mm front rotor and a 220 mm rear unit. The Signals Edition honours the Indian Armed Forces, who used the motorcycles on special operations.
The Classic 350 Signals Edition is available in two colour schemes - Airborne Blue and Storm Rider Sand. The motorcycle takes inspiration from the Indian Army Corps of Signals, which administers military communications. The Signals Edition features a tricolour logo with the '49' numerical and a dedicated stencil on the fuel tank.
Design highlights on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals Edition include a single-piece tanned brown leather seat and matte black finish on the engine, headlight bezel, handlebar, wire-spoke wheels, taillight and exhaust. The bike gets genuine accessories such as a high-set windscreen, canvas saddle bags with saddle stays, and a jerry can. Other accessories include duffle bags, riding jackets, helmets, gloves, rear parcel rack and binoculars.
Powering the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals Edition is a 346 cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, two-valve, air-cooled engine that churns out 19.8 bhp of maximum power at 5,250 rpm along with a peak torque of 28 Nm at 4,000 rpm. A 5-speed transmission works in harmony with the engine. The motorcycle comes with a 12.7- litre fuel tank and has a kerb weight of 184 kg.
A steel tubular single-cradle chassis suspends the engine and the suspension. The bike comes shod with telescopic forks up front and dual gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals Edition runs on 19- and 18-inch wire-spoke wheels at the front and back, wrapped in 90/90-section and 110/80-section tube-type tyres respectively.
