RxZ variant will be offered on both engine tunes.
Renault India's dealers are accepting bookings for the forthcoming Lodgy MPV for a token amount of INR 50,000. The market launch of the Lodgy is expected to take place in mid-April, however, according to a report on Autocar India, only the top-end variant of the Lodgy will be available initially.
Renault India is keen to offer the top-end variant at the time of launch in order to establish the Lodgy as a premium and upmarket MPV in the minds of customers. The French car maker also wants the Lodgy's customer base to be largely private owners and not fleet or taxi operators.
The Lodgy's top-end variant, the RxZ, will be offered in the 85 PS and 110 PS version of the 1.5-liter four-cylinder K9K diesel engine. The 85 PS makes 200 Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission whereas the 110 PS produces 245 Nm of torque and gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. According to ARAI tests, the 85 PS is good for 21.04 km/l while the 110 PS returns 19.98 km/l.
The Lodgy will come with two seating configurations - 7 and 8 seats. The 7-seat model gets Captains chairs for the second row and the 8-seat gets a conventional bench.
