Expected to launch for sale in late-2017 in India.
An import document from Zauba reveals that Renault India has imported a pre-production Renault Kaptur (codenamed HHA) from Russia for testing purposes. Reports speculate that the Renault Kaptur will launch in the Indian market in October 2017.
The Renault Kaptur is based on the Renault Duster's M0 platform, which is highly localized in the Indian market. This gives Renault the opportunity to price the Kaptur highly competitively when it launches in India.
The exterior of the Renault Kaptur is almost identical to the Euro-spec Renault Captur, save for a few styling tweaks and larger dimensions. It measures 4,333 mm long, 1,813 mm wide (excluding door mirrors) and 1,613 mm in height, and has a 2,674 mm-long wheelbase. The interior has a 387 litre boot space, which can be extended to 1,200 liters with the 60:40 split bench seats fully folded.

The Renault Kaptur for the Russian market is available with two petrol engine options: 114 hp 1.6L and 143 hp 2.0L four cylinder engines. For the Indian market, it's likely to be offered with the 1.6L petrol engine as well as the K9K 1.5L diesel motor with 110 PS from the Duster.
