Porsche begins production of Cayenne diesel at Leipzig

The German car brand Porsche which is well known for its sports cars has now started production of the diesel version of its in demand SUV - The Cayenne at its Leipzig plant.

The Cayenne diesel will come with a powerful 3-litre V6 turbo diesel engine with 240 hp (176 kW) and a peak torque of 550 Newton meters (Nm). The engine is provided by group company Audi. The Cayenne diesel uses 9.3 liters per 100 kilometers and its CO2 emissions are 244 grams per kilometre.

The Porsche Cayenne diesel will be on sale from February 2009, it will come fitted with the Tiptronic S automatic transmission as standard.

If you want own this super SUV's diesel 'avatar' then you will have to pay  about € 47,250+19 percent VAT and country-specific equipment. Expect the diesel Cayenne in India before December 2009.
