According to a report by Avishek B of BW Businessworld, Peugeot's first products for the Indian market will include a hatchback, compact sedan, and a compact SUV. The PSA Group is set to commence sales in the country by 2020.
The report cites a source saying:
There are three products lined up by PSA Peugeot Citroen comprising a hatchback, a compact sedan and a compact SUV and are codenamed SC1, SC2 and SC3 respectively. Based on the same platform, these three products are expected to premiere in the Indian market and will eventually be exported to many ASEAN and African countries in the subsequent phase. In all probability, they will be sold under the Peugeot brand for India.
However, Pierre-Olivier Salmon, Head of Corporate Information, Communications Division, of the company refused to divulge any details regarding the company's model lineup.
The PSA Group, in January 2017, announced the signing of joint-venture agreements with New Delhi-based CK Birla Group and Avtec Ltd for manufacturing and selling vehicles and components in India by 2020.
