It's official! The Nissan Terrano is all set to be unveiled on August 20th in Mumbai.
The Terrano, as you should know, is a reskinned Renault Duster that gives Nissan an entry-ticket into the highest growing automotive segment in India. Unlike previous rebadging examples of the Renault-Nissan Alliance in India, the Terrano differentiates itself sufficiently from its donor car.
As observed in official sketches and our renderings the Terrano sports completely different front and rear fascias. The front fascia aligns itself with Nissan's SUV family look and has a differently contoured bonnet.

The sheet metal changes doesn't end there, the door panels have a crease closer to the running board. The restyled tailgate carries half of the rear combination lamps.
From previous spyshots we can say that the Terrano gets rectangular centre airocon vents and silver accents on the steering wheel. The cabin is expected to feel a bit more premium than that of the Duster.
The premium Compact SUV, as Nissan likes to call it, will be powered by the familiar 1.5 litre K9K diesel motor. In the Duster, the engine is available in 85PS and 110PS versions but it remains to be seen whether the Terrano will also offer different outputs.
The Nissan Terrano is expected to be dearer than the Renault Duster by a considerable margin as we've seen on twins in the Renault-Nissan alliance.
With a higher asking price, will the Terrano create the same kind of magic that the Renault Duster created? How much extra would you pay for a different skin, new dashboard center console and the Nissan badge?
