Nissan Kicks interior revealed ahead of the launch in January 2019

The interior of the India-spec Nissan Kicks has been revealed at the media drive of the premium compact SUV.

The Indian-spec Nissan Kicks features a dual-tone black & brown leather-wrapped dashboard with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The India-spec Nissan Kicks will be launched in January 2019, while bookings will commence on December 14. The interiors feature a dual-tone, black and brown colour scheme with leather-wrapped dashboard and door panels. The Kicks feature an 8.0-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, which also doubles up as a display for the 360-degree surround-view camera.

The side AC vents get silver accents. The steering wheel, gear knob and door panels get a leather finish, while the seats feature black & brown upholstery. The rotary climate control AC (ACC) switches are placed below the infotainment system, while the engine Start/stop button, USB plug and 12V charging socket/cigarette lighter adapter are positioned below the ACC on the centre console.

The Nissan Kicks features a twin-pod semi-digital instrument cluster. The tachometer and fuel gauge dials are analogue, while the SUV gets a digital speedometer and a MID unit in the centre. The SUV also features a central front armrest and rear AC vents.

The Nissan Kicks features a six-way (manually) adjustable driver seat, while the central unlocking button is placed on the dashboard below the infotainment display. Features list includes cruise control, hill-start assist, push-button start/stop and an Eco driving mode. The LED projector headlamps are automatic, while the front fog lamps receive cornering function.

The Nissan Kicks will be available in petrol and diesel powertrain options that will be borrowed from the Renault Duster. The gasoline model will employ a 1.5-litre H4K petrol motor the churns out 106 PS of power at 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The oil burner will use a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that produces 110 PS and 245 Nm. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. There’s no word on the availability of an automatic transmission at the moment.

The Indian-spec Nissan Kicks is based on the same platform that underpins the Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano.

The Nissan Kicks is likely to be priced between INR 9.5 lakh to INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom) to compete with the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and the upcoming Tata Harrier.
