To accompany the Nissan X-Trail in the new lineup for 2016.
According to Carwale, the Nissan GT-R will launch in India in 2016, nearly eight years after the GT-R was globally launched in 2008. It must be mentioned that there are a few units of the GT-R in India imported individually by celebrities and luxury car sellers, and last year, a senior official all but confirmed that the GT-R would be the halo model for India.
Reported to be introduced in its facelifted guise at the Auto Expo 2016, the Nissan GT-R will be marketed as a niche offering that will serve as an image booster for Nissan India. It will rival the Audi R8 and Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo in the Indian market, and could be priced lower than both the Germans.
The GT-R sources power from a 3.8-liter twin-turbo petrol V6 that makes 545 PS and 627 Nm of torque, which is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed sequential dual-clutch transmission. The car was also showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo.

Along with the GT-R, Nissan will also unveil the India-spec Nissan X-Trail Hybrid, reportedly, which will also be imported via the CBU route. Meanwhile Renault is tipped to launch a more-powerful 1.0L Renault Kwid, while Nissan's budget brand Datsun is expected to introduce the production-spec Datsun redi-GO and showcase the Datsun GO-Cross concept.
