After having done with the major launches earlier this year, the Venue and next-gen Grand i10 Nios, Hyundai India is now gearing up to introduce the new Elantra. The company has opened the facelifted model's pre-bookings and will conduct its launch on 3 October 2019.

The 2019 Hyundai Elantra is expected to be priced from INR 14-15 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new Hyundai Elantra was revealed for the first time in August 2018 and is already on sale internationally. In terms of design updates, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra sports a cascading grille which complements the new and sharper front bumper. It also comes with sleeker, LED headlamps and triangular fog lamps which gives a sinister appeal to its front fascia. Also, the new neatly carved crease lines on the bonnet make its design look more intimidating. The car rolls on 16-inch alloy wheels as standard. At the back, it comes with much sharper graphics on its redesigned combination lamps. Furthermore, its newly designed rear bumper integrates reverse lights and registration plate. The boot lid houses 'ELANTRA' lettering spread across its width. The interior isn't much different from the old model.

The 2019 Hyundai Elantra will be launched as a petrol-only model in India. A diesel engine option won't be offered due to low demand in the pre-facelift model. The new model will thus only make use of the same 2.0L petrol engine as the pre-facelift model. This engine is rated to deliver 152 PS at 6,200 rpm and 19.6 kg.m (192.21 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm. Transmission choices will be the same: 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
