As per ASEAN media, the India-bound 2020 Honda City is going to make world premiere in Thailand next month. Just weeks ahead of the official unveiling, the car has been spied again in India and Thailand.
With the generation change, the Honda City will be revamped with a completely new front fascia featuring new headlamps, redesigned front bumper, wider grille and a slightly bigger Honda logo. The next-gen Honda City looks slightly inspired by the tenth-gen Honda Accord. In addition to a fresh design, it will also include a number of new and enhanced features for greater comfort and convenience, such as wireless charging, new touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and connected car solutions.
The Thai-spec 2020 Honda City is said to be offered with a 1.0-litre VTEC Turbo petrol engine (120 PS/200 Nm) linked to a 6-speed MT or CVT, and in a Hybrid variant with the i-MMD system which uses a 1.5-litre iVTEC petrol engine and two electric motors.

In India, Honda is expected to showcase and launch the all-new City at Auto Expo 2020. The Indian-spec model is expected with BS-VI 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine and BS-VI 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine at launch. These engines will come mated to a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed MT, respectively. A CVT will be available as an option for both, though. The all-new Honda City is also said to be launched with a full-hybrid powertrain. However, some other reports refute those claims, suggesting a lower-cost, mild-hybrid powertrain instead.
