Mahindra has three all-new models lined-up for launch this fiscal. The all-new models planned after the trio will follow only in CY2020.
By September 2018, the Mahindra Marazzo will go on sale. Soon after, but before Diwali, the Mahindra Rexton will follow as the homegrown automaker’s most expensive model to the date. In the meanwhile, the company’s first revamped dealerships branded ‘World of SUVs’ are expected to open doors to customers seeking premium SUVs with an improved shopping experience.
After the Mahindra Rexton, the Mahindra S201, a new sub-4 metre B-SUV going directly against the Ford EcoSport and Maruti Vitara Brezza, will reach showrooms. There’s one more launch planned during FY2019, but that’s not an all-new model. Without going into details, Dr. Pawan Goenka, MD, Mahindra & Mahindra, has just said that, like the Mahindra Rexton, this PV is a niche model. It’s “a variant of an existing platform.” Our bets are on the Mahindra eKUV100 that debuted at Auto Expo 2018.
Following the Mahindra S201, the entire calendar year 2019 will see no full model changes or completely new model launches from Mahindra. We will have to wait until 2020 for that.
“In terms of brand-new products or brand-new platforms, after these three launches, there’ll be nothing for rest of the next calendar year, ” Dr. Goenka has said.
“We will have couple of refreshes during calendar year (2019), but not new platform. Our new platform launches will start from 2020 which could be a full model replacement or new platform.”
