Two launches planned before March 2015.
Having opted out of the flourishing automatic scooter segment, Bajaj Auto is finding it tough to retain its podium position in the Indian two wheeler market. Business Standard reports that the Pune-based two and three wheeler maker has quite a few products up its sleeves for 2015, all of which are motorcycles.
The product onslaught is aimed at improving the market share to 30% from the existing figure which is varying between 15-20% every month. The Pulsar 200 SS fully faired sportsbike and the Pulsar 150 NS are expected to be the first of the new products to be launched.
The publication reports that Bajaj is also gearing up to revamp the entry level Platina 100 commuter which has been neglected so far. The revived Bajaj Platina would compete with entry level commuters like the Hero HF Dawn, Yamaha YBR 110 and TVS Max 4R.
The company is also reported to launch another Discover variant in the 125 cc segment which is the second biggest in the nation's motorcycle market. Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, has revealed that two launches are scheduled before March 2015 while there will be a 'significant' launch in the first half of the year.
