On sale in a price range of INR 5.43 - 7.66 lakh (ex-showroom), the Toyota Etios Liva comes across as a no-nonsense hatchback that offers a sufficiently spacious cabin, efficient engines, and the trust that comes from owning a Toyota model. While the Etios Liva is a practical offering, it's not the most fun-to-drive option around. That said, here is a modified Toyota Etios Liva that might change the way you look at the most affordable offering from Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
Prepped by Bangalore-based Race Concepts, this car offers a maximum power of 211 bhp! Race Concepts swapped the 1.2-litre stock engine with a completely rebuilt 1.5-litre petrol engine that features a Stage 3 turbo-spec cylinder head, a Garett turbocharger, external wastegate, Race Dynamics standalone ECU, and Race Concepts induction kit. The high-strung motor outputs a maximum power of 211 hp @ 6200rpm with a 10 psi boost.
For now, the customizer has limited the boost to preserve the stock clutch assembly, but it will be soon replaced with a motorsport-spec unit. To complement the bump in power, the modified Toyota Etios Liva has been equipped with motorsports-grade carbon brake pads from Race Concepts.
A custom suspension setup improves the car's handling characteristics. Race Concepts is yet to reveal the price of the modification. It is, however, estimated to have cost close to INR 5 lakh to build this modified Toyota Etios Liva.

The Toyota Etios Liva has been on sale since 2011 with 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel engine. The former outputs a maximum power of 78.9 bhp and a peak torque of 104 Nm while the latter offers 68 bhp and 170 Nm. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. With a combined average monthly sales of 1,151 units, the Etios Liva and the Etios Liva Cross are far from being the top-sellers in their respective segments.
