Just days after launching the MG ZS in Thailand last month, MG displayed the new SUV at the 2017 Thai Motor Expo.
The MG ZS was introduced as the brand’s new compact SUV at the 2016 Guangzhou Motor Show in November last year. It has been built on a shortened version of the MG GS’ platform. The ZS is 4,314 mm long, 1,809 mm wide and 1,624 mm tall. It has a 2,585 mm wheelbase and a 165 mm ground clearance.
In Thailand, the MG ZS is available exclusively with the 1.5-litre VTi-TECH petrol engine that produces 114 PS at 6,000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. A 4-speed automatic transmission is standard. Unlike China, a 5-speed manual transmission isn’t available.
Noteworthy features of the SUV include projector headlamps with LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights, MG logo trunk opener, roof spoiler, panoramic sunroof, two-tone interior colour scheme, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Thai voice command, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way adjustable front passenger’s seat, Jet Turbine design air vents and push-button start.
The MG ZS is available in Thailand in three grades: C, D and X. Prices range from 6,79,000-7,89,000 Baht (INR 13,41,058.95-15,58,314.45).
