Flagship luxury model for Mercedes-Benz globally.
Mercedes-Benz India have confirmed the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 for September 25, thus launching the Maybach luxury sub-brand in the country as well.
The Mercedes-Maybach had its world premiere in November last year at two motorshows simultaneously - the Los Angeles Auto Show and the Guangzhou Auto Show in China. Internationally, orders for the Mercedes-Maybach S500 and the S600 started in the third week of December 2014, while deliveries commenced from February 7 this year.
At 5,451 mm in overall length, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 is 206 mm longer than the regular S Class, and gets the rear executive seating package as standard. Customers will experience several features on-board including adjustable seat backs, massaging seats including a Hot-Stone massage, fine leather upholstery, a chilled rear center armrest, Burmester 3D audio, hand-crafted champagne flutes and a V12 engine should they choose to opt for the driver's seat.
The 6.0-liter V12 Bi-Turbo engine packs 523 hp and 830 Nm of torque, despite which Mercedes claims the Maybach S600 to be the "world's quietest car". The drive goes to the rear wheels by means of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Globally, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 is Mercedes's flagship luxury model with prices starting at 187,841 EUR (INR 1.4 crores). Unlike the S Class which is assembled in India, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 will come through the CBU route.
