Powered by a 3.0L V6 bi-turbo engine.
Mercedes-Benz India has launched the petrol variant of the Mercedes GLS, as part of their plan to offer petrol variants of products sold with only diesel engines. The GLS 400 4MATIC is priced from INR 82.9 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), and is a CBU.
The GLS 400 is powered by a 3.0L V6 bi-turbo engine that produces 333PS and 480Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox as well as Mercedes' 4MATIC AWD system as standard. The GLS 400 is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 240 km/h.
The GLS 350d will share its feature list with GLS 400 petrol, which include AIRMATIC air suspension system, DYNAMIC SELECT with 5 driving modes (Comfort, Sport, Individual, Slippery, Off-road), panoramic sunroof, a new center console with new trim options, Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch COMAND infotainment system, full LED headlights, and Active Parking Assist with 360-degree camera.

Until now, the GLS was only available with a 3.0L bi-turbo V6 diesel motor, which produces 258 hp and 620 Nm of torque. The (now revoked) ban on diesel powered cars displacing over 2,000 cc in Delhi NCR had influenced manufacturers to introduce petrol variants of vehicles affected.
