MFA-based crossover to challenge the Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
Mercedes-Benz India has revealed, by way of its official Facebook fan page, that the GLA will launch on September 30. Dealers of Mercedes India started accepting orders in May this year.
Based on the front wheel drive platform of the A Class, the GLA had its world premiere in September last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The crossover locks horns with the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and the Volvo V40 Cross Country.
The GLA will likely be available with two engine options in India - a petrol and a diesel. The petrol motor would use a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine to produce 155 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, while the diesel would use the 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine to generate 135 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. Both engines will be paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
