Available only in 510 PS AMG GT S variant.
Topping off Mercedes India's slew of AMG product launches in the country is the much anticipated introduction of the Mercedes AMG GT in Delhi, India today. Available to order across AMG centers from today, the Mercedes AMG GT is priced from INR 2.4 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Mercedes AMG GT is Merc's second product developed solely by the AMG division. The exterior follows the characterisitc fastback GT styling with a long front hood, short rear-end, and curvaceous features. Despite being a less expensive replacement of the Mercedes SLS, it loses the cool gullwing doors for a conventional pair.
Under the hood, the Mercedes AMG GT packs a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine available in two guises, internationally. The Indian market gets the more-powerful GT "S" variant, which produces 510 PS and 650 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed Speedshift DCT gearbox, and is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 310 km/h.
For Mercedes India, the Mercedes AMG GT marks the 14th and penultimate launch of a new Merc in 2015, leaving one product left to complete the company's ambitious plan of launching 15 new products this year.
