With an average monthly dealer dispatch of 14,009 units (June - November 2018), the Maruti Vitara Brezza has been the highest selling model in the sub-4-metre SUV segment. In spite of unchallenged dominance, it is currently available with an exchange bonus of up to INR 25,000.

Last month, Maruti Suzuki announced that the production of the Vitara Brezza has been ramped up further to reduce the waiting period.

Maruti Suzuki has seldom offered a significant discount on its high-selling compact SUV. Several market analysts, however, opine that the muted sales growth in the past few months could have pushed the company to start offering a substantial exchange bonus to buyers of the Maruti Vitara Brezza. Compared to the 2017, passenger vehicle registrations plummeted 14% in 2018 in the 42-day window from Navratri to 15 days post Dhanteras, which is the peak festive season.

That said, the exchange bonus reduces to INR 15,000 in case the old car you sell to Maruti True Value is more than 7 years old. Still, with up to INR 25,000 off its base price, the Vitara Brezza is available at an effective starting price of INR 7.33 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The Maruti Vitara Brezza was launched in March 2016. In July 2018, the Brezza became Maruti’s fastest model to clock 3 lakh units in cumulative sales, with the compact SUV achieving the target in just 28 months of its launch. Powering the sub-4-metre SUV is a D13A 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine that outputs 90 PS and 200 Nm. The motor is available with two transmission options - 5-speed manual and 5-speed AGS (AMT).

The introduction of the AGS marked the launch of a minor facelift for the hot-selling model. The update brought in a set of black alloy wheels, an updated grille and a chrome-plated tailgate garnish. Moreover, the company introduced a new Autumn Orange exterior paint colour with an optional Pearl Arctic White paint for the roof. On the inside, the grey colour theme was replaced with an all-black setup and the car received an updated IP and door trim.
