Bookings could start this week.
With the world premiere of the Maruti Vitara Brezza confirmed for the upcoming Auto Expo 2016, a Team BHP post suggests a mid-March launch for the compact SUV.
The Vitara Brezza will receive project headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, integrated rear spoiler, and a rear wiper/washer. The details from the aforementioned post suggest that the compact SUV will be powered by the company's DDiS 200 diesel engine. This engine already powers the Ertiga and the Ciaz, with reports indicating that it will also be powering the Maruti Baleno at a later stage. It develops 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque.
As for the petrol version of the Vitara Brezza, Maruti is expected to launch it in India at a later stage. With the debut of the vehicle set for the Auto Expo, it is expected that the country's largest passenger car manufacturer will throw open bookings for the Vitara Brezza on the same day.

The Vitara Brezza will be sold out of regular Maruti dealerships and will rival the likes of the Mahindra TUV300 and the Ford EcoSport. While TUV300 has revived interests in the compact SUV segment with its encouraging sales, the Vitara Brezza could breathe new life into the once-hot segment.
