It looks like Maruti Suzuki can't stop making headlines. Day before yesterday, they were in the news for A-Star, yesterday they disclosed details of their future small car to the media, and today there's news about a special edition Alto, which should attract attention from all the people who enter Maruti showrooms to see the A-Star.
The Alto 'Xcite', according to Maruti has exciting features. No, no, no turbochargers or Dual-Clutch gearboxes, just a few visual enhancers inside and out.
Body graphics, body colored bumpers, rear parcel tray and central locking are the features which they Xcite has that the regular version doesn't.
The 'Xcite' sticker is prominent on the side, which is normally seen in any limited edition car, but surprisingly it comes with the big 'Special Edition' 'Xcite' sticker intead of a badge, much like a big-sized decal.
On the inside, the Alto receives sporty dual tone leather like seat covers and it also comes with a rear parcel tray, plus a central locking, which is a very useful and welcomed feature.
Rest of the interiors of Alto 'Xcite' are unchanged and comes in grey color.
The limited Edition Alto is available only till the end of Nov 08 and is available at Rs2,98,775 which is about Rs16,000 more than the regular version of Alto.
So, if you can pay few bucks extra and wanted a small car with some sporty touch then this one is to go for!
IAB Comment-I think that Indian automakers are now taking Special Edition route to boost up the sales of their cars particularly MSIL which has introduced many such SE cars like the WagonR 'Premeia' and recently launched 800 'uniq,' Zen Estilo 'sport,' Alto 'X-fun' and now the Alto 'Xcite.'
