Maruti Suzuki has hiked the price(s) of the Baleno diesel and Baleno RS with immediate effect. The Baleno diesel's prices now start at INR 6,73,611*, while the Baleno RS costs INR 8,88,913*.
Maruti Suzuki sells the Baleno diesel in four grades: Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Its price has gone up by INR 12,300* or INR 19,499* depending on the grade. The Baleno RS now costs INR 12,913* more. Just last week, the company had introduced the BS-VI Baleno VVT petrol and the BS-VI Baleno Dualjet Dual VVT Smart Hybrid petrol, with prices starting at INR 5.58 lakh* and INR 7.25 lakh* respectively.
The Baleno RS sports the 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol engine imported from Japan. This turbocharged three-cylinder mill generates 75 kW (101.97 PS) at 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 1,700-4,500 rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The fuel economy rating of the RS variant is 21.1 km/l.
The Baleno diesel uses the 1.3-litre DDiS 190 engine which puts out 55.2 kW (75.05 PS) at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel configurations deliver a fuel economy of 27.39 km/l.
