Will be offered with one diesel engine at launch, reportedly.
According to Motor Trend India, the upcoming Maruti-Suzuki S-Cross will only offer a 1.6 diesel motor when launched. This contradicts earlier reports that the pseudo-crossover will be offered with a choice between a 1.3-liter and the said 1.6-liter DDiS diesel motors, as well as a 1.4-liter K-Series petrol from the Maruti Ciaz.
In the Euro-spec Suzuki SX4 S-Cross, the 1.6-liter Fiat-sourced motor produces 120 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Indian-spec model will not be equipped with the AllGrip AWD system offered in the international model.
The Maruti S-Cross is expected to pack features such as projector headlights with LED DRLs, alloy wheels, power folding wing mirrors, dual-zone HVAC control, cruise control, rear HVAC vents, Maruti’s SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, and skid guards all over the vehicle.
The Indian-spec Maruti S-Cross was unveiled at the IIFA 2015, followed by the dedicated site going online. Reports suggest that the Maruti S-Cross will be launched in the end of July, or in early-August. Alongside the Ciaz, the Maruti S-Cross will be sold exclusively at the company's newly introduced premium NEXA range of dealerships.
