A report on the Economic Times states that Maruti-Suzuki, India's largest car maker, has received over 3,000 bookings for the upcoming Ciaz sedan. The company started accepting orders on September 3 for INR 21,000 at all 1,370 sales outlets in the country. Maruti has also received between 10,000 - 12,000 enquiries for the car.
The Ciaz has its market launch next month, and will go on sale with a petrol and a diesel engine. The diesel engine powering the car - Fiat's 1.3-liter Multijet producing 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque - delivers a class-leading 26.21 km/l making it India's most fuel efficient car. The petrol variant will be powered by the 1.4-liter K-Series engine making 92.45 PS and 130 Nm of torque.
Maruti has confirmed that the Ciaz will be available in four trim levels. The petrol variant would also be available with a 4-speed automatic transmission apart from a 5-speed manual.

A while back, Maruti started series production of the car at its Manesar facility in Haryana.
