Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker, launched the Celerio today at the Auto Expo.
The Celerio is powered by a 998 cc three-cylinder engine (codenamed K10B) which outputs 68 PS at 6,000 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. It is mated either to a 5-speed manual transmission or an automated manual transmission (AMT). The Celerio is claimed to deliver 23.1 km/l according to ARAI tests.
The hatchback measures 3,600 mm in length, 1,600 mm in width, 1,560 mm in height and comes with a wheelbase measuring 2,425 mm. The city hatch has a turning radius of 4.7 meters and a ground clearance of 165 mm. The kerb weight of this car is between 810-830 kg.
Four trim levels are available on the car - LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi Option. The top-end ZXi Option is equipped with features such as dual front airbags for the driver and passenger, ABS, foglights, alloy wheels, 2-DIN music system and Bluetooth connectivity.
The AMT technology however is reserved only to the base LXi and VXi variants.
