Maruti is gearing up to launch the Maruti Alto 800 facelift this month, with the first cars having been spotted ahead of dealer dispatch.

Changes are focussed at the front, where designers have given the small car new headlight clusters with yellow reflector elements for the turn indicators, a slimmer grille, repositioning of the Suzuki logo and an all-new front bumper. The front bumper of the Alto 800 facelift now features a provision to install foglights.

There are no changes towards the side or the rear of the hatchback. However, new color options and new wheelcaps are expected on the Renault Kwid-rival.

On the inside, reports state that the Maruti Alto 800 facelift will sport a similar dual-tone interior as the more expensive Maruti Alto K10. If so, buyers can expect a modern looking dashboard with an integrated 2-DIN music system with USB and AUX-in and new controls for the HVAC system.

However, Maruti will not be making any changes to the tried-and-tested 0.8-liter three-cylinder petrol engine which is capable of 48 PS and 69 Nm of torque. The engine is offered with a CNG option too, and is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti could introduce its AMT (automated manual transmission) on the Alto 800 facelift in the future though.
