Autocar Professional reports that the Suzuki 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida next week, as CV Raman, Executive Director – Engineering, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), revealed the same to the publication in a recent interview.
Unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the 1.0-litre three-cylinder BoosterJet engine features a direct injection system and a turbocharger which enables the engine to produce 110 hp and 170 Nm of torque. The motor will be offered with the choice of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, both of which will power only the front wheels of the export-spec Baleno.
The BoosterJet engine will be manufactured in India, as confirmed by Maruti officials to IndianAutosBlog, to be offered on the Suzuki Baleno that will be exported to over 100 markets worldwide. The BoosterJet model is expected to be introduced in India as well expectedly later this year.

The Maruti Baleno is currently offered in India with the choice of the familiar 1.2-litre four-cylinder K-Series petrol engine or the 1.3-litre four-cylinder DDiS diesel mill.
