First mid-size sports crossover from Mahindra.
Mahindra has unveiled a new design study concept at the Auto Expo 2016 today. Dubbed as the Mahindra XUV Aero, it previews a future coupe-inspired four-door crossover from the Indian manufacturer.
Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, has divulged that the XUV Aero can go into mass production, but it depends on the feedback of the public. He has also confirmed that the XUV Aero was styled by Mahindra and built by Pininfarina, which is now under the ownership of Mahindra.
The Mahindra XUV Aero draws design cues from the Mahindra XUV500 SUV, as seen in the headlamps, hood, and sculpted lines. The concept, however, features new LED DRLs, hood vents, sportier body kit for a low stance and large alloy rims. The sloping roofline, LED taillamps and diffuser contribute to a dynamic design not seen in any of Mahindra's products.
Complementing its performance-oriented exterior design is a tuned mHawk engine, which produces a 210 hp, thanks to a next gen turbo. It also has an advanced combustion system and low pressure EGR for better refinement. Mahindra claims that the XUV Aero is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in under 6 seconds.
