According to PTI, Mahindra & Mahindra has begun working on a mid-cycle update for the TUV300. Expected to launch next year, the 2019 Mahindra TUV300 will carry styling tweaks and new features. More importantly, the refreshed version will offer better safety.
The 2019 Mahindra TUV300 will reportedly feature a modified body structure to comply with the new crash tests that come into effect in October 2019. Furthermore, the company is said to be working on a BSVI-compliant engine in preparation for the stricter emission norms that from April 1, 2020. The more recent TUV300 Plus will receive a similar set of updates.
The Mahindra TUV300 has been on sale with a 1.5-litre mHawk100 four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that outputs a maximum power of 100 bhp along with a peak torque of 240 Nm. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The T8 and T10 trims are available with an optional 5-speed AMT. Standard safety features include dual front airbags and ABS with EBD. The company will be required to add reverse parking sensors, speed-sensing auto door lock, impact-sensing auto door unlock, front seatbelts reminder, and speed alert warning system to comply with safety regulations that take effect next July.
The entry-level T4+ trim of the Mahindra TUV300 costs INR 8.31 lakh*. The range-topping T10 trim with a manual transmission and a dual-tone paint scheme is on sale for INR 9.99 lakh* while the AMT version has been priced at INR 10.81 lakh. The T8 and T10 trims are available with an optional dual-tone paint scheme, which costs another INR 15,000.
