Faulty vacuum pump to blame.

Mahindra has announced a recall for the Scorpio and XUV500 SUVs and the Xylo MPV. About 2,300 units of these cars are fitted with a defective vacuum pump in their engines, and they are likely to have been manufactured in the month of May 2014.

The recall affects all variants of the XUV500.

Affected owners are being contacted by dealerships, and the part will be replaced if found faulty, free of cost of course. The recall is limited to Scorpio Vlx, Sle and Lx variants, XUV500 W4, W6, W8 and Xylo H9, H8 and H4 variants.

In July this year, Mahindra recalled about 23,500 units of the Scorpio 2.5-liter variant for preventive inspection of pressure regulating valves. It was the second recall for the Scorpio 2.5L, as in December 2013 Mahindra had issued a recall for it, for the very same reason.
