The Mahindra Marazzo, which was launched on 3 September, has bagged more than 10,000 orders in just 45 days of its launch. The new model was introduced at an introductory starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh. Late last month, IAB learnt that the burgeoning demand for the new MPV has led to a waiting period of up to 45 days on select variants.
Mahindra & Mahindra is said to be targetting monthly sales of 4,000 units of its new MPV. If required, the company can boost the production to 7,000 units a month in the next financial year.
The Mahindra Marazzo is powered by a new 1.5-litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine that outputs a maximum power of 121 hp @ 3,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 300 Nm @ 1,750 - 2,500 rpm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The new model is built on a ladder-frame chassis but features a transversely mounted engine. The patented architecture enables the MPV to benefit from the robustness of the ladder-frame construction and a low ride height and flat floor that are typical of monocoque frames. The new model has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 17.3 km/l.
The Mahindra Marazzo is claimed to have the least NVH levels in its class. The popular UV manufacturer has used crank-offset technology to minimise the engine vibration. An advanced dual mass flywheel technology reduces the engine rattle.
