The Lexus ES 300h was showcased at the Autocar Performance Show 2018. The seventh-generation Lexus ES has been on sale in the country for INR 59.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan-India).
Speaking on the design of the latest Lexus ES, Yasuo Kajino, Project Chief Designer, has said -
The ES has always been an elegant luxury sedan. For this generation, we have added daring design elements that challenge the traditional expectations of buyers.
The Lexus ES 300h features a sharply-styled front-end, with the newest iteration of the company's signature spindle grille. While this is in line with the path set by the LC coupe and LS flagship, the ES gets a couple of unique elements like the vertical grille pattern and the satin-plated trim. In side profile, the Lexus ES has a dynamic shape, whose characteristics include a low hood line, a low roofline remains, and a long shoulder line that runs between the top of the front wheel arch to the corner of the trunk. At the rear, the Lexus ES 300h gets a sharply chiselled facade, with wraparound LED taillamps that feature a distinctive three-dimensional, L- shaped design.
The seventh generation Lexus ES 300h is underpinned by the company's Global Architecture – K (GA-K). Powering the mid-size luxury sedan is a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that works in conjunction with the fourth-generation Lexus Hybrid Drive System. Together they deliver a maximum power output of 218 PS and a fuel efficiency of 22.37 km/l.
