Weakening British Pound results in lower prices.
Jaguar Land Rover has revised the prices of the Land Rover line-up in India. Land Rover models, including those of the Range Rover luxury sub-brand, are now cheaper by at least INR 3 lakh.
The sharp decline in the Pound's value following the Brexit referendum last year has influenced the price. The Land Rover Discovery Sport, which is locally assembled, is now cheaper by INR 4 lakh. In Delhi, the compact SUV is priced from INR 43.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The Range Rover Evoque, also locally assembled, starts around INR 3 lakh lower now. It's priced from INR 45.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) now.
The locally assembled models see only minor price cuts, but the CBU imports have gotten a whole lot cheaper. Consider the Range Rover Sport, which starts INR 30 lakh lower than before. The base Vogue grade of the flagship Range Rover has received an astonishing price cut of INR 50 lakh.
