A report on Autocar Professional suggests that the KTM adventure tourer with 200 cc and 390 cc engine options could be unveiled and launched in India as early as April-May 2016. This information has come from the publication's sources inside the company and some of the others too seem to have confirmed that the model is at an advanced stage of development.
The report also recalls that Stefan Pierer (CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of KTM AG) had hinted at the development of a motorcycle for ‘tour-purpose’ for India in 2012 to a leading Indian business news channel.

KTM is believed to have started working on an entry-level adventure tourer in 2011. It is also believed that the company experimented with the chassis of the KTM Duke 200/KTM Duke 390 and much more to build an adventure tourer around it but the results convinced them to develop a new platform for it.
